Makeup has become an essential part of every women’s everyday life and has grown beyond the dictates of fashion, cosmetic-coverage and demands of the occasion, calling for its own bag of tips and tricks. Some of these quick and easy makeup tips and tricks are covered here and are nothing short of waving the proverbial magic want to ensure you look your best - anytime, anywhere!

Makeup Tips and Tricks:

We all wear makeup everyday, but when you are invited to a party the make up calls for something special. Party makeup needs the right mix of cosmetic products that will grant your everyday elegance a glamorous goddess look to help you stand out in a crowd, be it a hint of bronzer, a low, lush sweep of false eyelashes or glittering strands of hair-color as temporary highlights!

  • When a special occasion approaches, try and put together your ensemble the night before and do a dress and make up ‘rehearsal’ of sorts of the party decide what you are going to wear and try it on.
  • Choose a lipstick color that is complementary to your complexion and play up either your eyes or your lips to draw attention to the feature you wish to highlight. For example, if you intend wearing false eyelashes and deep mascara, then down-playing your lips with a light lipstick shade and a touch of gloss will ensure your eye-magic is not outdone by any other feature.
  • The right perfume can be ‘layered’ with the same scent in different products like using bath oil, body lotion and hand cream of the same house of fashion as your perfume. This allows the fragrance to stay subtle but intended for long-wear.
  • To make your makeup last longer, cleanse your face thoroughly with cool water to which a pinch of soda bicarbonate has been added, then apply ice cubes on the face. This helps prolong makeup for any special occasion.
  • Using a concealer takes a bit of practice and feather-light strokes of a steady hand, but if blended well, it can aptly hide skin flaws like dark circles around the eyes or scars. A beige concealer is ideal for dark skin and one with natural tones is suitable for fairer skins. Always apply concealer with a dry sponge or your fingers, smoothly and even it out to set in well. Follow this up by dotting foundation evenly over it.
  • Mixing the foundation with a touch of moisturizer during winter months helps seal it in better and stay longer on the face, giving it a warm, natural look.
  • Translucent powder dusted over the face helps foundation stay on longer and any excess powder can be easily brushed off.
  • A great eye-catching makeup tip is to use powder eye shadow as eyeliner with a wet eye shadow brush as this keeps the liner from straying.
